Founder of Alchemy FX Studios; locally reknown artist to Northern California, David Ainsworth, has an extensive knowledge and notable background in visual arts, including illustration/painting and sculpting and film production, having worked initially as a professional stage-hand. David has always had a passion for special effects work since a young age. Eventually, it made sense to fully immerse himself in the local movie-making scene.
Initially starting out as a volunteer, he gained greatly beneficial on-site experience, which helped him further develop his technique and skills while finding ways to provide hard-hitting effects for any budget. Since, he has developed practical application experience in Special Effects artistry, making custom prosthetics, creature/monster make-up and a multitude of blood treatments, also filling the roles of SFX Art Director.
David has continued to hone his own style while being inspired and influenced by notable industry names, such as Lon Chaney, Jack Pierce, Stan Winston, Dick Smith and Tom Savini, to name a few.
The one studios crew is thankful to have met David, whose make-up work on Fight 4 Your Life has taken this film to a whole new level! He’s the kind of guy that does what he does for the love of it, because it is his passion. And when you have anyone working on your team with that mentality and feeling you can’t go wrong. Gerald “Zeke” Johnston was born July 23, 1978, having grown to a height of 6’4″ and weighing in at 245 lbs. Sound like a ring announcer’s description? Well, that would make sense!
Zeke is an amateur heavy weight MMA fighter and boxer. With only two years training he has worked his way to fighting California ‘s best fighters. With a background of college football and semi pro basketball, Zeke has always been involved in sports. He coaches basketball to young kids in the greater Sacramento area, but most of all loves coaching and being with his son Jordan, who was seen on set with Zeke throughout his shoots for Fight 4 Your Life.
Zeke also enjoys comedy and inspires to one day try stand-up. Every member of the one studios crew can vouch for Mr. Johnston’s hilarious, over-the-top antics on set. So, we’re more than sure some stand-up would do him good! Thanks for all the hard work, and all the laughs, big Zeke!
